Boiling Lava Hot LLC (“we”, “us”) makes the game Veilslash and runs boilinglavahot.com. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
The game
Veilslash does not collect personal information and does not send any data to us. It does not include analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services.
The game stores its save files, settings and a log file on your own computer, in your Windows local application data folder. These files stay on your computer unless you share them.
Veilslash is sold through Steam, which is run by Valve Corporation. Your purchase, your Steam account and any Steam features (such as achievements, cloud saves or the Steam overlay) are handled by Valve under the Steam Privacy Policy. We receive only aggregate sales and wishlist reports from Valve, not your personal details.
The website
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they view. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, your device and browser type, the pages you visit, which links you click and the site that referred you. We use this only in aggregate and don’t track logged-in site administrators. See Google’s privacy policy. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on.
Fonts and embedded content. The website loads fonts from Google Fonts and shows a Steam store widget. Loading these sends your IP address to Google and Valve, as with any website that uses them.
Mailing list. If you sign up, we collect your first name and email address. We use them only to send news about our games, about once a month, and beta or demo announcements. Our list is hosted by Mailchimp (Intuit), which may record whether you open our emails or click links in them. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time. See Mailchimp’s privacy policy.
Contact form. If you contact us, we collect your name, email address and message, and use them only to reply. Messages are delivered to us by email through Zoho Mail; the website itself doesn’t keep a copy. If you tick the sign-up box, we also add you to the mailing list.
Spam protection. The contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to block spam. reCAPTCHA collects information about your device and how you interact with the page and sends it to Google. Google’s privacy policy and terms apply.
Security and hosting. The website is hosted on DigitalOcean. Like most websites, the server keeps standard access logs (IP address, page requested, browser type and time) for a limited time for security and troubleshooting, then deletes them automatically. Our security plugin, Wordfence, records the IP address and details of requests that look like attacks or suspicious login attempts, and may share attackers’ IP addresses with the Wordfence threat-intelligence network run by Defiant, Inc.
Links to other sites. Our website links to Steam, Discord, X and TikTok. Those services have their own privacy policies.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell or rent your personal information. We don’t share it with anyone except the service providers named above, who handle it on our behalf, or when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep mailing-list details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We keep contact emails only as long as needed to handle your request. Google Analytics keeps detailed data linked to its cookies for 14 months after your last visit; after that only aggregate reports remain.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop emailing you. Depending on where you live (for example the European Union, the United Kingdom or California), you may have further rights under local law. Email us at the address below and we’ll respond within 30 days.
Children
Our website and mailing list are not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we’ll delete them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
